Call for Youth Submissions: What does water resilience mean to you?

Ahead of the upcoming COP, AGWA will be working with the MPGCA to enable more youth representation in the climate space. We want to hear from children and young adults who are thinking about these issues! That’s why we are requesting short video submissions (60-90 seconds) answering the following prompt: “What does water resilience mean in your life?” In other words, how does “water resilience” impact your home life, your studies, your work, what career choices you are considering, your vision of the future for you or your community, or even your emotions? Please send us your videos along with basic information (name, country or region) for a chance for your responses to be featured at a COP27 session. More details below!

How to create and send your video

CREATE

Record your answer the question: What does water resilience mean in your life?

In other words, how does water resilience impact your life? You may want to choose a topic area from this list to talk about:

  • at home

  • at school and in your studies

  • career choices you are considering

  • your work

  • your vision of the future for you or your community or

  • even your emotions!

Technical tips

  • check the microphone

  • do a couple of practice takes first

  • check what the camera can see (all children should avoid school uniforms or schools — and check your local rules on filming and filming in public spaces)

  • you may want to create speaking notes for yourself to practice or have someone stand beside the camera (out of the shot) that you can see, holding your speaking notes for you to read

  • edit you video so it’s 60 to 90 seconds long

  • save your finished video as a .MP4 file format

  • Check your video is less than 2GB to be able to send it (see below)

Most importantly, be creative, be you, and have fun!

SEND

To send your video to us, please:

  1. Send your video by 15 October via https://wetransfer.com/. Registration for the service is free for file transfers under 2GB.

  2. Upload the video to We Transfer. Submissions should be sent amauroner@alliance4water.org. In the message section, put:

    1. your first name and last name

    2. your country or region

    3. an email for AGWA and MPGCA to contact you if your video is featured at COP27.
