Tangled up in Blue: Integrating water stewardship into private sector climate strategies

Climate change is escalating rapidly and already having serious impacts, primarily expressed through the water cycle, and businesses must adapt quickly to deal with new risks and stakeholder expectations. Despite high-level recognition of the connection between climate change and freshwater ecosystems, serious disconnects are hindering the ability of businesses to contribute effectively to challenges.

Join us for “Tangled up in Blue: Integrating water stewardship into private sector climate strategies” on Thursday, 21 September, as part of Climate Week NYC. This free event, co-hosted by the Alliance for Water Stewardship and AGWA, will outline the concept of water-resilient mitigation and how the private sector can weave it into their climate and water strategies.

This event aims to:

  • Advance our understanding of the connections between mitigation and water-resilience.

  • Identify how water-resilient mitigation can support a more integrative approach for private sector strategies on climate and water.

  • Contribute to better alignment of private sector investments and public policy priorities for achieving water resilience.
