HELP Guiding Principles for Drought Risk Management under a Changing Climate

The UN High-Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) recently approved a new report on climate change and drought, which was co-authored by a number of AGWA staff and network members and published by Deltares with support from the Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.

Released on World Water Day 2022, this report is part of the HELP community's ongoing work on climate change and disasters, and seeks to inform drought risk management and planning under "new normals" brought on in part by climate change. The consideration of droughts in risk management and the in future hydrological conditions are assessed and highlighted with the ultimate goal of increasing climate resilience in ecosystems, society and economic sectors.
