UNFCCC COP31 Overview
The 31th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place from 9–20 November in Antalya, Türkiye. COP31 serves as the formal meeting of the UNFCCC parties (i.e., countries) to negotiate and agree upon actions on how to tackle climate change, limit emissions, and halt global warming.
This year’s COP has a unique joint presidency arrangement, with Türkiye serving as the official host country and assuming the COP31 Presidency with Australia acting as the President of Negotiations.
