AGWA to Introduce New Water Resilience Training for Mexican Utilities at ANEAS Convention

We are pleased to announce that tomorrow, 25 November, our associate Mario López Pérez will present a new capacity-building initiative for Mexican water utilities under the Toma Segura program during the ANEAS Annual Convention, one of the country’s most important national gatherings for the water sector. Co-organized by Fundación Gonzalo Río Arronte (FGRA) and AGWA, the session will introduce a new online training program coming in early 2026 designed to help utilities better understand and respond to the growing impacts of climate change on water systems, operations, and community engagement. This session will take place on 25 November from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. in Room 8.

A New Training Program for Water Resilience

The presentation marks the launch of a new initiative within a larger body of work under the direction of Fundación Gonzalo Río Arronte (FGRA) known as Toma Segura. AGWA’s efforts under Toma Segura aim to initiate and accelerate a culture of resilience among Mexican utility operators, positioning them to better understand and address the risks and opportunities of climate change within the communities they serve.

Stay tuned for updates as the program begins and utilities start engaging with resilience-based approaches in the months ahead.
