AGWA Welcomes Two New Board Members

Following an open election from 5-17 August, AGWA’s members have selected two new representatives to the organization’s Board of Directors. We were once again truly humbled by the interest expressed and the quality of the candidates. We would like to extend our appreciation to everyone that applied.

Results were first announced at our 15th Annual Members Meeting this past weekend. Please join us in welcoming the two new Board Members: Lilian Daphine Lunyolo and Claudia Sadoff.

Lilian Daphine Lunyolo is a global climate and water policy professional with extensive experience in field offices and at the headquarters level, including the UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat. She has worked with institutions such as the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security and UNICEF and supported national programmes through the German and Austrian Development Cooperation in Uganda and the World Food Programme in Timor-Leste. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. examining the effectiveness of global climate and water governance at the national level through the Water Innovations for a Sustainable Earth (WISE) program at Arizona State University. Lilian will take on the role of Young Professional Representative on AGWA’s Board.

Claudia Sadoff has devoted her career to the management of water for development as a practitioner, a researcher, and an executive. She has served as the World Bank’s Global Lead for Water Security, the Director General of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), and the Executive Managing Director of CGIAR. She is a recipient of the International Water Resources Association’s Crystal Drop Award, was a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Oxford University and Chaired the GWP/OECD Task Force on Water Security and Sustainable Growth. She currently sits on the Board of the Pacific Institute and holds advisory and steering committee roles at The Nature Conversancy and The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
