WATER INNOVATIONS FOR A SUSTAINABLE EARTH (WISE), ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY

Ms. Lilian Daphine Lunyolo is a global climate and water policy professional with extensive experience in field offices and at the headquarters level, including the UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat. She has worked with institutions such as the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security and UNICEF and supported national programmes through the German and Austrian Development Cooperation in Uganda and the World Food Programme in Timor-Leste.

Her expertise includes developing and managing projects, programmes, and grants addressing climate change and water resources management on a sound scientific, technical, and socioeconomic basis. She provides technical, advisory, and liaison support to institutions, government ministries, and communities, and has contributed to thematic publications such as the UN World Water Development Report 2024. Ms. Lunyolo has organized dialogues, spoken at major international conferences, and supported youth capacity strengthening for global policy engagement.

She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. examining the effectiveness of global climate and water governance at the national level. She aims to contribute to bridging the science-policy interface for effective governance.
